Today, just today, I got my apprenticeship. Work hard on your portfolio, be curteous and mature with your mentor. Don't let people dissuade you about being a tattoo artist they're all normal people, and they just happen to love doing a more permanent kind of art.

Don't forget that a great deal of the focus should also be on the prevention of the spread of diseases such as Hep. C. I've had many seasoned artists who came to me to break their cross-contamination habits. The artist is most at risk, so make sure your apprenticeship instructor completely understands bloodborne pathogens.

I've been tattooing for nearly two years now and it's been a fair battle getting to where I am today. Dedication, hard-work, passion and creativity are essential in my opinion to becoming a tattooist. Ideally all tattooist would like their customers to be as well informed about the tattooing procedure as possible, sadly most of the time this is not the case. However I do believe that sites like this are great to refer my customers to and I fully support the advice you guys are offering. Keep up the good work.

In regards to your letter all i can say is that dont class your own work as good unless you can make a living with a family with it. Try not to get the wrong idea , but the occupation is like a Tattoo.. ie, For life , Basically all mothers want best for their own, Trust your mom, because your young an naive, have an avenue to fall back on... because you only get one shot at this life,,,, it aint nothin but long hours ,mostly alone and hard WORK dont be fooled by print in magazines....if tis meant to be ,,you'll earn your stripes.....
